Position Description 

The Grants Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of U.S. Soccer’s grant programs, including application, selection, disbursement, reporting, and evaluation processes. The Manager will work across Soccer Growth, Advancement, Commercial, and Soccer Forward Foundation to ensure grant programs are functioning efficiently and tracking towards their intended outcomes in alignment with overall U.S. Soccer strategies and goals. In addition to managing the operations of U.S. Soccer’s grant making programs, this position will also support the departments above to pursue and manage external funding opportunities. 

Importantly, this role will also help build capacity across the soccer ecosystem to write stronger proposals and successfully implement grant-funded initiatives. This includes developing light-touch tools, resources, and support systems to help members and partners navigate funding opportunities, strengthen program design, and improve operational readiness for grant implementation.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Execute the operations of U.S. Soccer’s grant programs, including management of technology platforms; application, review, and approval processes; agreement and funding mechanisms; and reporting, compliance, evaluation, and close-out processes.
  • Work with the Finance Department to execute and track grant funding disbursements.
  • Work with the Legal Department on grant agreements, modifications, and other related items as needed.
  • Maintain active communication and build strong, trust-based relationships with funding recipients.
  • Promote grant programs to relevant stakeholders through strategic marketing and communications.
  • Develop reporting, dashboards, and impact summaries for funders, donors, senior leadership, and other departments.
  • Monitor grant performance and progress toward intended outcomes, identifying risks, gaps, or support needs early.
  • Establish consistent impact-measurement approaches (e.g., shared indicators, templates, or light-touch data collection tools) to help recipients demonstrate outcomes and meet reporting requirements.
  • Provide training, tools, and resources to help ecosystem partners build capacity to develop competitive proposals and successfully implement awarded grants.
  • Offer technical assistance to recipients on budgeting, program design, compliance, evaluation planning, and storytelling for impact.
  • Support other departments in the pursuit and stewardship of external funding opportunities, including proposal development, budget preparation, and post-award management.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen the overall grantmaking infrastructure—simplifying processes, improving accessibility, and increasing the likelihood of successful implementation across the ecosystem.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3-5 years of grants management experience in a grant making role
  • Strong, professional written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to effectively deliver important information to diverse stakeholders
  • Elevated critical thinking and uncompromisable ethical standards
  • Accurate, meticulous work style with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Capable of working in fast-paced and demanding environments
  • Demonstrable experience building and maintaining trust across diverse stakeholders
  • Must be committed to U.S. Soccer’s culture, specifically under our In Service to Soccer strategy
  • Knowledge of the U.S. Soccer member landscape preferred
  • Experience working with high-profile funders or funders with substantial compliance requirements a plus
  • Must be able to connect “micro” details to the “macro” vision and mission 
  • Proficient experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)

Position Description 
U.S. Soccer is seeking a storyteller to join the Federation’s Editorial team, telling the story of soccer in all its forms across the sports landscape. This includes highlighting the Federation’s work in service to soccer, our members (referees, coaches, member orgs, etc.) and ultimately the best of us - our athletes, from our Senior National Teams to Extended National Teams.

This Coordinator, Digital Content will play a key part in producing, writing and editing high-quality articles that resonate with fans and serve our members. This role will also manage publishing and digital platforms, this includes posting press releases, updating copy on various landing pages or microsites, and ensuring meta data is optimized for search. They’ll also work with the Video Team to place videos onto digitally owned properties, including inputting and optimizing meta data.

The role will also manage and curate content in different mediums across various landing pages and owned platforms (web, app and DTC), ensuring they are up-to-date, visually appealing, and aligned with U.S. Soccer’s editorial strategy. 

This individual will also manage ad inventory on owned platforms in collaboration with Partnership Marketing and Content Planning teams.

Travel to team events, camps and games may be required.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Write, edit, and publish engaging articles, including match previews, player features, news updates, and more for U.S. Soccer’s website and app.
  • Ensure content maintains a high level of accuracy, quality, and engagement, even when working within tight time constraints.
  • Identify storylines and narratives across all 27 National Teams, the Open Cup, and other Federation initiatives, including the Federation’s mission and brand objectives.
  • Curate content on landing pages and other digital touchpoints on the website, app and D2C platform.
  • Update static pages and microsites as needed for accuracy and relevant initiatives, including updating team and player pages with latest stats.
  • Manage digital ad inventory, in collaboration with Partnership Marketing, Content Planning and other internal departments.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of U.S. Soccer landscape, including key player and emerging talent. 
  • Optimize meta data for digital content, including articles and videos, for search traffic.
  • Collaborate with broader content team craft written content to support other content initiatives in different mediums.
  • Ensure web content is optimized for search engines and audience interests to maximize web traffic.
  • Stay up to date with latest digital and SEO trends, ensuring U.S. Soccer content remains relevant and impactful.
  • Travel to games and other media or marketing events to interview U.S. Soccer players and staff for written content as needed.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in digital content creation, journalism, or media with a focus on sports (soccer experience preferred but not required).
  • Strong understanding of AP Style.
  • Experience writing and editing with an eye for detail.
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining quality and efficiency across multiple projects.
  • Strong understanding of SEO best practices and ability to stay on top of SEO trends and algorithm changes.
  • Experience using different content management systems and web analytics tools.
  • Used to performing and exceling in fast-paced environments and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance short-term deliverables with long-term projects in concurrent workstreams.

Position Description
The Youth National Team (YNT) Administrator manages the preparation and execution of domestic and international Youth National Teams competitions, events, and camps. He/she leads all final planning for Youth National Team camps, acts as the point person for players and staff while in camp, and coordinates all logistical and operational aspects of the team.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Work with the head coach and YNT managers to identify all needs for travel and camp operations
  • Plan and secure all player/staff travel including, but not limited to, air travel, hotel reservations, ground transportation, meals, and visas
  • Manage and maintain the team’s daily schedule from a planning standpoint as well as on a day-to-day basis
  • Liaise with the training site to ensure it has accurate information and is prepared for training each day
  • Execute the onboarding process for all team network staff (e.g., background checks, SafeSport training, payroll, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot all operational and administrative matters that arise while traveling and in camp to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of all players and staff
  • As the team’s operations and logistics point person, create and sustain healthy, positive relationships with vendors (e.g., hotel, training site, airlines, transportation companies, etc.)
  • Together with the head coach organize team bonding activities, cultural outings, and dinners outside of the hotel
  • Contribute to the management of an accurate budgeting process by paying invoices, reimbursing staff and players, and tracking team/camp expenses on time for:
  • Team operations (player per diem, equipment and supply purchases, laundry)
  • Travel expenses (hotel expenses, gratuities, airport entry and departure taxes)
  • Game/event expenses (referees, per diem employees, field rental)
  • Oversee the player-release process by requesting all releases from club teams and reporting to the USSF coaching staff on player availability
  • Keep our internal platform P3 (Player Pathway Project) by maintaining current player (and parent/guardian) and club contact information
  • Lead communications by phone, email, Zoom, messages with staff, players and parents prior to, during and after camps
  • Conduct post-event evaluations, report on outcomes and propose ideas to improve efficiency and quality of the Youth National Team experience
  • Facilitate match operations for the team’s friendlies and official competitions (ticketing requests, accreditations, match countdown, protocol gifts, etc.)
  • Advise staff and players on the policies set forth by U.S. Soccer, CONCACAF and FIFA
  • Maintain orderly and accurate files on all team-related information, including release waivers, contracts, game reports, and trip reports

Position Description 
Reporting directly to the Head of Goalkeeping, the YNT Goalkeeper Coach will be responsible for educating, equipping, and developing our top talents through age-appropriate, skill-building approaches with the goal of grooming players to play for our Senior National Teams. They will also play a role in Goalkeeper Education through delivering courses, club coach visits and collaborating with the Education department to develop courses and educational opportunities.  This role requires the implementation of coaching expertise, excellent in-person and remote communication skills, and collaboration with peers in identifying, selecting, developing, and transitioning talents through the player pathway.

Primary Responsibilities 
  • Reports to the Head of Goalkeeping 
NATIONAL TEAMS (50%)
  • Collaborates with the MYNT and WYNT Heads of Development (Technical & Leadership), MYNT and WYNT Head Coaches and Technical staff to create the best aligned environment for our players within US Soccer set structure and processes (THE U.S. WAY)
  • Serves as the YNT Goalkeeper Coach across U15-U17 Youth National Teams as needed
  • Works to support and lead a high-performance environment for the Men’s and Women’s Youth National Teams
  • Oversee the individual development and performance environment for goalkeepers 
  • Creates the conditions for an optimal on and off-the-field performance for players
  • Commits to delivering consistently to players the vision, mission, and objectives of U.S. Soccer and the overarching sporting strategy
  • Ability to align and deliver the USSF Player Development Philosophy – The U.S. WAY language (cultural anchors, performance anchors, game model, methodology, etc.)
  • Delivers the US Player pathway document outlining our areas of focus for all ages and stages of the program

EDUCATION (50%)
  • Collaborates with the Director of Coaching Education and works closely with Goalkeeper Education Technical Lead and staff. 
  • Upon request of the Director of Coaching Education or GK Technical Lead and Head of Goalkeeping, contribute to the US Soccer Coaching Education Programs
  • Curriculum Development: collaborate in the design and development of course curriculum ensuring content is modern, evidence-based, and aligned with the best practices in coaching education. 
  • Maintain high educational standards across both online and in person course formats through Educator training, course evaluations, and collaboration with the Coach Education Department. 
  • Collaborate with internal departments to develop and implement initiatives that improves accessibility for aspiring coaches across the country 

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
  • USSF “B” License or higher (or comparable Qualification) or working towards
  • Minimum of a GK B License from any recognized Confederation or working towards
  • Coaching experience within elite youth development
  • Passion for working with and the developing young players 
  • Proven history of developing the individual player
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills to manage and lead self and others
  • Capable of working in fast-paced and demanding environments 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication combined with a professional demeanor
  • Must be able to connect “micro” details to the “macro” vision and mission
  • Proficient experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook), Video Editing and digital course content development tools
