Position Description 

The Senior Manager, Matchday and Growth Marketing will lead the strategic planning, execution, and optimization of integrated marketing campaigns that elevate the matchday experience, expand the Federation’s fanbase, and foster deeper connections with supporters across all channels.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and hands-on executor with proven experience in live event marketing, digital growth, and brand storytelling. They thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment and have a passion for soccer, fan culture, and growing the sport in the U.S.

Primary Responsibilities

Matchday Marketing
  • Develop and execute integrated marketing campaigns to drive ticket sales, attendance, and fan engagement for U.S. Soccer controlled national team matches.
  • Collaborate with Events & Ticketing, Partnerships, Event Operations, Brand, Content, Social and Communications teams to deliver best-in-class matchday experiences.
  • Lead creative thinking and development of promotional assets (paid media, digital, social, email, in-stadium activations).
  • Create, deliver and measure a holistic go-to-market plan for matches inclusive of goals and the full marketing mix from announcement to matchday in domestic and international markets. 
  • Develop and drive match announcement strategy specifically for senior national team events, working closely with Local Organizing Committees (LOCs) and Sports and Entertainment Commissions (SECs) in local markets plus External Communications and Content teams to drive immediate impact and ticket sales.
  • Act as the central hub for all Matchday-related activities, anticipating challenges and proactively addressing issues before they escalate. 
  • Lead all Matchday external and internal marketing planning and delivery meetings, establishing and managing meeting cadences, and ensure effective communication across teams. 
  • Manage and provide regular updates to key stakeholders on all matchday projects and initiatives. 
  • Oversee the match announcement process, bringing innovative and creative approaches to execution. 
  • Focus on proposition development and match storylines for matches in partnership with Brand, Events & Ticketing, Communications and Content teams. 
  • Collect, manage, organize and present campaign reporting to share performance and learnings with cross functional and senior leadership teams. 
  • Collaborate with analytics and product teams to communicate data and technical requirements for performance marketing needs and prioritize initiatives based on business objectives. 
Growth Marketing
  • Lead digital marketing strategies focused on fan acquisition, engagement, and retention across paid media, CRM, and owned channels.
  • Partner with Content, Digital, and Data Analytics teams to design growth campaigns that expand reach, drive conversions, and maximize lifetime value of fans.
  • Provide strategic guidance to team members and cross-functional partners.
  • Champion a fan-first mindset within the organization, advocating for innovative approaches to deepen connections with U.S. Soccer supporters.
  • Maintain and take ownership of marketing initiatives to help drive awareness to U.S. Soccer events and programs by tracking goals, KPI’s and forecasts. 
  • Manage marketing approach and media strategy to scale impact of match announcements and drive conversion (sales). 
  • Lead relationship with key agency stakeholders and digital buyers to drive forward U.S. Soccer’s marketing and revenue goals.  
  • Leverage data-driven insights and A/B testing to improve campaign performance and efficiency.
  • Develop and manage performance marketing budgets, reporting on ROI and key metrics.
  • Manage agency and vendor relationships to deliver high-quality, on-brand campaigns.
  • Collaborate with sales team to drive ticket sales, acquire new fans and Insiders (loyalty members) through all marketing channels including paid search, SEO, affiliate and paid social in partnership with marketing. 
  • Work with creative and marketing teams to lead the testing pipeline 
  • Develop strategies to enhance segmentation, targeting, personalization and reach across paid channels. 
  • Optimize vendor relationships to increase performance and process efficiency while holding vendors and partners accountable to KPI goals.  
LOCs 
  • Incorporate local market nuances into planning and execution to ensure tailored, relevant experiences. 
  • Create in-market relationships with CVBs, Sports Commissions and local organizations to help drive interest in awareness in events. 
  • Partner with local influencers and creators to drive awareness and conversion for matches. 
  • Bring exciting and brand-new ideas localized for announcements  

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field (MBA preferred).
  • 7–10 years of experience in marketing, with at least 3 years focused on live event or sports marketing and growth/digital marketing.
  • Strong expertise in integrated marketing, campaign management, paid media, CRM, and fan engagement strategies.
  • Proven track record of delivering measurable business results (ticket sales, fan acquisition, digital engagement).
  • Excellent project management, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Capable of working in fast-paced and demanding environments.
  • Must be able to connect “micro” details to the “macro” vision and mission.
  • Proficient experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Passion for soccer and understanding of the U.S. sports and entertainment landscape.
  • Ability to travel and work non-traditional hours, including nights and weekends, for matchdays and events.

Desired qualifications
  • Experience working in the sports industry.
  • Passion for soccer and a deep knowledge of the soccer landscape in the United States.
  • Spanish or bilingual language skills a plus.

Position Description 
U.S. Soccer is seeking a storyteller to join the Federation’s Editorial team, telling the story of soccer in all its forms across the sports landscape. This includes highlighting the Federation’s work in service to soccer, our members (referees, coaches, member orgs, etc.) and ultimately the best of us - our athletes, from our Senior National Teams to Extended National Teams.

This Coordinator, Digital Content will play a key part in producing, writing and editing high-quality articles that resonate with fans and serve our members. This role will also manage publishing and digital platforms, this includes posting press releases, updating copy on various landing pages or microsites, and ensuring meta data is optimized for search. They’ll also work with the Video Team to place videos onto digitally owned properties, including inputting and optimizing meta data.

The role will also manage and curate content in different mediums across various landing pages and owned platforms (web, app and DTC), ensuring they are up-to-date, visually appealing, and aligned with U.S. Soccer’s editorial strategy. 

This individual will also manage ad inventory on owned platforms in collaboration with Partnership Marketing and Content Planning teams.

Travel to team events, camps and games may be required.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Write, edit, and publish engaging articles, including match previews, player features, news updates, and more for U.S. Soccer’s website and app.
  • Ensure content maintains a high level of accuracy, quality, and engagement, even when working within tight time constraints.
  • Identify storylines and narratives across all 27 National Teams, the Open Cup, and other Federation initiatives, including the Federation’s mission and brand objectives.
  • Curate content on landing pages and other digital touchpoints on the website, app and D2C platform.
  • Update static pages and microsites as needed for accuracy and relevant initiatives, including updating team and player pages with latest stats.
  • Manage digital ad inventory, in collaboration with Partnership Marketing, Content Planning and other internal departments.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of U.S. Soccer landscape, including key player and emerging talent. 
  • Optimize meta data for digital content, including articles and videos, for search traffic.
  • Collaborate with broader content team craft written content to support other content initiatives in different mediums.
  • Ensure web content is optimized for search engines and audience interests to maximize web traffic.
  • Stay up to date with latest digital and SEO trends, ensuring U.S. Soccer content remains relevant and impactful.
  • Travel to games and other media or marketing events to interview U.S. Soccer players and staff for written content as needed.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience in digital content creation, journalism, or media with a focus on sports (soccer experience preferred but not required).
  • Strong understanding of AP Style.
  • Experience writing and editing with an eye for detail.
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining quality and efficiency across multiple projects.
  • Strong understanding of SEO best practices and ability to stay on top of SEO trends and algorithm changes.
  • Experience using different content management systems and web analytics tools.
  • Used to performing and exceling in fast-paced environments and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance short-term deliverables with long-term projects in concurrent workstreams.
  • Experience working with a diverse range of stakeholders in dynamic and fast-changing environments, effectively balancing priorities and ensuring clear communication across teams.
  • Discretion, as this role will be privy to confidential information.

Position Description 
Reporting to the Sr. Director, Media Relations, the Sr. Coordinator, Media Relations, will support the daily operations of U.S. Soccer’s Media Relations team, collaborating across the Federation, particularly with the Marcomms, Advancement, and Commercial teams, to draft communications materials, manage editorial calendars, and monitor media coverage. 

The ideal candidate is an exceptional writer with a solid understanding of media relations tactics, strong organizational and project management skills, and the ability to balance competing deadlines.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Support the development and execution of U.S. Soccer’s national and global media relations strategy.
  • Prepare pitches and help identify key reporters, editors, and influencers to secure impactful media coverage.
  • Maintain internal project tracker and editorial calendar to help plan and track stories, deliverables and deadlines. Provide logistical support to ensure timely execution.   
  • Partner with the Manager, Media Relations, to coordinate day-to-day media inquiries and responses.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to identify compelling stories for media.
  • Prepare talking points, briefing materials, and press releases in alignment with U.S. Soccer’s messaging framework.

Position Description   

The Manager of Corporate Communications – National Training Center/New Business Ventures - will be responsible for supporting strategic communications initiatives that enhance the visibility of U.S. Soccer, with a particular focus on the National Training Center (NTC) in Atlanta and new business ventures. This role requires experience in media relations, community engagement, and storytelling to effectively communicate the organization’s goals and achievements. 

Primary Responsibilities
  • NTC & Metro Atlanta Communications
  • Support the strategic communications plan for all NTC/Metro Atlanta-related initiatives.
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with local and national media to promote the NTC.
  • Serve as a communications liaison for Atlanta-based stakeholders and key partners.
  • Support media and community events around NTC milestones.
  • Support the NTC partnership development team with communication strategies.
  • Provide media relations assistance for Men's, Women's, Youth, and Extended National Teams when training at the NTC.
  • Ensure messaging is consistent with established Federation messaging, internally and externally.

  • Collaborate with content team to align messaging and storytelling initiatives.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications
  • 5+ years in a media relations/corporate communications role in the sports, media, or entertainment industries.
  • Ability to relate to individuals at all levels of the organization with intelligent and articulate verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in communications, press and advocacy.
  • Strong project management skills with an analytical mindset.
  • The ability to work independently and in a collaborative work environment is required, along with strong organizational, interpersonal, analytical, and planning skills.
  • Business, Marketing, English, Journalism or Communications advanced education.
  • Ability to speak Spanish is highly desirable.
