Soccer Assistant Coach

The Weber School is seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Soccer Coach with a passion for teaching and leading high school students. The ideal candidate should have excellent instructional, organizational, and time management skills, with experience in goalkeeper training. The Assistant Coach will report to the Head Coach and will assist in the execution of practice and game plans, tracking statistics, and player development. Applicants must be available to coach Monday through Friday after school.

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced, energetic, and motivational Soccer Coach to lead our soccer-specific training sessions. This coach will develop and implement age-appropriate training plans designed to improve speed, agility, power, technical ability, and tactical awareness for athletes of all skill levels — from young beginners to competitive players.
  • Responsibilities:

Lead individual, small group, and team-based soccer training sessions
  • Design drills that develop footwork, ball control, passing, shooting, agility, and game IQ
  • Foster a high-energy, disciplined, and motivating environment
  • Work closely with the Head Coach and General Manager to integrate soccer training into overall athletic development programs
  • Track athlete performance, provide feedback, and guide improvement goals
  • Communicate professionally with athletes and parents regarding progress and upcoming opportunities
  • Assist in community outreach events and promote D1 Soccer Training programs
  • Maintain a safe, clean training area and follow D1 standards for coaching and conduct
✅ Requirements:

Background in coaching youth, high school, or collegiate-level soccer
  • Strong understanding of the technical, tactical, and physical demands of the game
  • Fit, energetic, and able to demonstrate drills with intensity
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and motivational skills
  • Certified in CPR/AED or willing to become certified
  • USSF, NSCAA, or equivalent coaching license/certification is a plus
  • Availability on evenings and weekends preferred

Position Overview:
Ready to coach the next generation of soccer players? As a TOCA Class Coach, you’ll introduce young kids (18 months to 13 Years Old) to the beautiful game, helping them develop soccer and social skills in a fun and energetic environment. You'll inspire confidence, teamwork, and a love for soccer, all while making each session playful and exciting!

Your Game Plan:
On the Field: Coaching & Player Development (60%)
  • Run fun and engaging soccer sessions, using TOCA's curriculum to guide the little ones through drills and activities.
  • Organize playful games where kids can apply new skills while learning teamwork and sportsmanship.
  • Tailor each class to the kids' age and abilities, making sure they improve while having a blast.
Team Spirit: Motivation & Communication (20%)
  • Create a positive vibe that keeps the kids motivated and excited about soccer.
  • Keep parents in the loop with progress updates, ensuring everyone is part of the team’s success!
Game Day Prep: Safety & Setup (15%)
  • Make sure the field and equipment are safe and ready to go.
  • Follow all safety guidelines to keep the little players protected and happy.
Off the Field: Admin & Support (5%)
  • Handle class rosters, attendance, and player evaluations.
  • Help with any additional program needs like setting up for the next class or organizing paperwork.
What You Bring to the Pitch:
  • Soccer experience (playing or coaching) and a passion for the game.
  • Love working with kids and helping them grow.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is a plus, but not mandatory.
  • Availability to work afternoons and weekends, as most youth soccer classes take place during these times.
  • Ability to kneel, bend, reach, climb, and stand for long durations of time.
  • Ability to move and lift equipment and supplies of 30+ pounds.
  • Energy to stay active and lift equipment when needed.
