Job Summary:

Join our team as a Referee and play a crucial role in overseeing fair play, ensuring sportsmanship, and upholding the rules of the game. As a Referee, you will have the opportunity to communicate effectively, utilize your sports coaching expertise, manage conflicts, and specifically focus on soccer games. This role is from Sept 20th to Nov. 8th on Saturdays only.

No Games: Sept 20th

Pay:

$15/game(officiate 3-4 games)

Duties:

- Officiate soccer games by enforcing rules and regulations to maintain fairness and sportsmanship.
- Communicate clearly with players, coaches, and spectators to explain calls and maintain a positive game environment.
- Demonstrate expertise in sports coaching to guide players on proper techniques and strategies during gameplay.
- Manage conflicts that may arise during games with professionalism and impartiality.
- Uphold the integrity of the game by making unbiased decisions and ensuring adherence to game protocols.

Experience:

- Previous experience working with children or in a sports coaching capacity is preferred.
- Strong conflict management skills to handle challenging situations effectively.
- Familiarity with soccer rules and regulations is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with players, coaches, and spectators confidently.

Position Description


The Director of Refereeing Education & Development is a senior leader within U.S. Soccer’s Referee Program, responsible for shaping and delivering the referee education strategy nationwide. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality learning experiences across all stages of a referee’s journey.

Working closely with the Vice President of Refereeing and the Director of Refereeing Strategy & Operations, the Director plays a central role in strengthening both the quality and quantity of referees across the country. The successful candidate will be a natural leader with the ability to connect meaningly with referees at every level – from grassroots to FIFA – and will represent the U.S. Soccer’s commitment to building a strong, consistent and supportive referee development ecosystem.

This role also guides the creation and implementation of content aligned with the U.S. Refereeing Way — our approach to how the game should be officiated in the United States — and ensures alignment between education strategy and the professional pathway, including close collaboration with PRO. As U.S. Soccer continues to invest in modernizing its referee infrastructure, this leader must be comfortable leveraging technology to enhance learning, streamline processes, and help transform referee development across all pathways.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and ongoing implementation of the U.S. Refereeing Way across all referee education content and materials.
  • Oversees develop of technical and instructional materials for National Referee Camps and National Referee Coach Camps, ensuring consistency and quality across delivery.
  • Design, manage, and enhance the Referee Talent Identification (RTID) program, including oversight of national tracking systems and future development academies.
  • Provide strategic leadership on improvements to the Referee, Assignor, and Referee Coach licensing pathways, including course content, progression, and assessment.
  • Ensure the quality and consistency of all licensed referee education courses, maintaining instructional standards and learning outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain educational content that supports referees at all levels — from new grassroots officials to regional and national referees — with an emphasis on accessible, relevant, and ongoing education throughout a referee’s career.
  • Collaborate with PRO to ensure U.S. Soccer’s referee education strategy aligns with the professional pathway.
  • Support the development and implementation of digital learning tools and platforms, including US Soccer RED, in close collaboration with U.S. Soccer’s Product Team and the Senior Manager of Refereeing Technology & Platforms, ensuring technology supports scalable, user-friendly, and effective referee education.
  • Use data and stakeholder feedback to assess program impact and guide future improvements.
  • Supervise and support Education & Development team members, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation.
Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.S./B.A. from an accredited college or university required
  • Minimum 6–10 years of experience in a senior role supporting referee development
  • Deep technical expertise in refereeing and referee education
  • Comfortable with technology and digital tools, with a forward-thinking mindset to support innovation across referee education, evaluation, and program delivery
  • Collaborative and passionate about advancing the refereeing community
  • Strong and empathetic leader with a proven ability to build high-performing teams and foster a welcoming, respectful, and growth-oriented environment for both referees and colleagues
  • Demonstrated experience building scalable education programs aligned with strategic goals
  • Skilled at planning and managing complex projects and timelines
  • Effective problem solver with sound judgment and adaptability

Desired Qualifications

  • Former referee with significant match experience at the national, professional or international level

  • Familiarity with referee development systems in the U.S. or another national federation
  • Understanding of the referee pathway from grassroots to the professional level, including collaboration with professional referee organizations (e.g., PRO)
  • Experience working with learning management systems (LMS), digital evaluation tools, or online education platforms
  • Spanish or other second-language proficiency a plus

Position Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and energetic Class Coach for the TOCA Soccer Training Facility who will be responsible for teaching soccer skills, fostering a love for the game, and promoting sportsmanship in a fun and safe environment. TOCA Classes are designed to introduce kids as young as possible to team-settings and enhance their sports and social skills. This is a part-time, hourly opportunity to join a department within an evolving and innovative soccer training facility and contribute to inspiring confidence and a love for the sport at a very young age. Role Scope & Responsibilities:

  • Soccer Instruction: Teach energetic, engaging, and fun class sessions to children aged 18 months to 7 years old in a structured manner following TOCA Kids curriculum.

Our League Ambassadors are an essential ingredient to the success of our leagues. They are the eyes and ears at our venues and ensure all league games run smoothly. We are currently looking for responsible, reliable, and outgoing individuals to act as League Ambassadors for JAM Sports.

JAM Sports Ambassadors are responsible for:

  • Engaging with players each and every shift to ensure they are having the best possible experience before, during, and after games
  • Establishing a relationship with vendors, facilities, and the community to support our growing brand
  • Arriving at the venue location prior to game times to meet with the facility caretaker and/or venue staff
  • Setting up equipment for the sport that will be played that evening
  • Managing the venue throughout the course of the night to ensure that our players enter & exit the building at the appropriate times and through the appropriate doors
  • Ensuring that all games start and end at the correct times
  • Enforcing league rules and sportsmanship to create safe play during games
  • Assisting with any incidents and injuries as appropriate
  • Cleaning up the facility and packing up all equipment at the end of the night
  • Submitting a shift report through our online system after each shift
  • Collecting and creating fun content for JAM's social media platforms (videos, action shots, player interactions etc.)

EXPECTED HOURS

  • Our leagues run Tuesday to Friday from roughly 5:45 pm until 12:00 am with some Saturday and Sunday shifts available as well (shifts will vary based on game times at a given venue).
  • We are looking for people who can work on multiple nights throughout the week after 5:00pm.
  • Shift times are typically between 3 to 6 hours long depending on the venue.
  • Hours will vary depending on your availability, but preferences will be given to those who are committed to working consistent shifts on multiple evenings.
  • Responsibilities/times/locations all vary depending on your availability.

COMPENSATION

  • All of our League Ambassadors earn $16.55 CAD per hour to start. We have created a very clear hourly increase plan that showcases how you can achieve future hourly rate increases based on the number of shifts you have worked. The increases will be reflected starting the pay period after you hit the specific shift milestone.
  • Base Rate = $16.55 CAD
  • After 50 Shifts = $17 CAD
  • 100 Shifts = $18 CAD
  • After 200 Shifts = $19 CAD
  • After 300 Shifts = $20 CAD
  • League Ambassadors have the opportunity to participate in all of our tournaments at no charge (please note: that to be eligible to play in a tournament for free you must have a regular shift in the current season).
