The head of IDP is a new position created to cope with the demands of the modern game. Every position on the field is played differently, and every player in that position has a unique profile. For this reason, it will be crucial to understand and identify the key areas of improvement for each player and connect them with our player profiles' core characteristics.
The Head of IDP has the responsibility to enhance the performance of individual players within a team context. To accomplish this task will be essential to offer continuous support to individual players, teammates around the player and staff involved in the player’s development.
Self-management, leadership, and a positive attitude to build strong relationships with players and staff will be essential to complete the tasks assigned for this role.
INDIVIDUAL WORK:
Identify individual needs during the game for players in the second team and the U18s, U16s, and U15s in the academy. Create individual, position, and unit (2, 3, 4 players) training sessions to focus on a specific position and area of the field. Build training sessions and IDP programs aligned with the Atlanta United FC curriculum, style of play, and player profiles. Deliver meaningful individual/unit training sessions after the team training and/or in separate time slots at a different time of the day. Create weekly and monthly plans to have a clear mid and long-term development vision. Evaluate and monitor the development of the players. Quantify performance and compile minutes played by each player in each team in the academy to build comprehensive databases (including U14s and U13s). Coordinate the mid-season and end-of-the-season individual reports for each team. Assisting other head coaches in team training sessions.
TEAM-WORK:
To lead, manage, and inspire coaches, assistant coaches, and performance staff for the ATL UTD 2, U18s, U16s, and U15s teams to implement the methodology and Atlanta United style of play. Work in collaboration with the Director of Methodology to deliver the academy soccer program with the technical position-specific skills required for players at Atlanta United. Assist teams in the academy during specific training sessions, games, and tournaments. Formulate opinions and create evaluations based on facts and share these evaluations with the head coach and staff for each specific team. To ensure that the staff in the academy live the academy standards and behaviors both on and off the field.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
USSF B license or equivalent required. 5 years of experience in an academy of a professional soccer club. Computer literate with good knowledge of MS Office and Apple Software. Experience using key industry software (Wyscout, Hudl and Sportscode). Bachelor’s degree in sport sciences (desirable). Spanish and other languages are a plus.

The Head Coach of the MLS NEXT Pro team is responsible for leading the development and competitive performance of the club’s second team. USSF “A” License or equivalent required. Minimum 5 years of professional coaching experience, preferably with experience at the youth, reserve, or professional levels. Demonstrated track record of player development and progression to higher levels. Strong tactical knowledge and ability to teach and adapt game models. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required. Experience with performance analysis tools and data-driven decision making, such as SportsCode. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
Experience working within an MLS or similar professional club structure. Background in managing diverse rosters with players from varied backgrounds and cultures. Familiarity with MLS roster and player development rules and structures. Understanding of sports science principles and integration into training.

Position Description


The Director of Corporate Communications – NTC/New Business Ventures - will be responsible for developing and executing strategic communications initiatives that enhance the visibility of U.S. Soccer, with a particular focus on the National Training Center (NTC) in Atlanta and new business ventures. This role requires strong leadership in media relations, community engagement, and storytelling to effectively communicate the organization’s goals and achievements. The individual will serve as a key liaison with media, partners, and stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities

NTC & Metro Atlanta Communications

  • Develop and implement a strategic communications plan for all NTC/Metro Atlanta-related initiatives.
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with local and national media to promote the NTC.
  • Serve as the primary communications liaison for Atlanta-based stakeholders, including AMBSE, Coca-Cola, and other key partners.
  • Act as a community ambassador, representing U.S. Soccer with local civic and community organizations and serving as spokesperson when necessary.
  • Partner with the events team to coordinate media and community activities around milestone NTC events.
  • Support the NTC partnership development team with communication strategies.
  • Provide media relations assistance for Men's, Women's, Youth, and Extended National Teams when training at the NTC.
  • Ensure messaging is consistent with established Federation messaging, internally and externally.

  • Support internal clients within the Federation including strategy, tournaments, and commercial teams to support their communications needs surrounding these initiatives.
  • Collaborate with content team to align messaging and storytelling initiatives.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Conduct media and speaker training for U.S. Soccer spokespeople in alignment with strategic messaging frameworks.
  • Act as a facilitator for meetings with internal departments and external partners.
  • Serve as an emcee or moderator for U.S. Soccer events when necessary.
  • Lead and mentor a corporate communications manager to assist with department initiatives.
Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years in a media relations/corporate communications role at a senior level in the sports, media, or entertainment industries.
  • Business, Marketing, English, Journalism or Communications advanced education.
  • Extensive experience in speech writing and preparation for senior leadership.
  • Ability to relate to individuals at all levels of the organization with intelligent and articulate verbal and written communication skills.

U.S. Soccer is looking for a Manager, Sporting Communications to lead communications for our Youth National Teams (YNT) and Extended National Teams (ENT). These 25 teams represent the future and diversity of American soccer—from elite youth players competing in FIFA tournaments to athletes excelling in Beach Soccer, Futsal, Power Soccer, and Cerebral Palsy and Deaf disciplines. This role is essential to elevating their visibility, telling their stories, and aligning their communications with U.S. Soccer’s broader mission to work in service to soccer and grow the game for everyone.

This role will own and execute the full communications strategy for YNT and ENT programs, including developing press materials, conducting media relations and proactive pitching, tracking team stats, milestones, and rankings, translating them into engaging narratives across internal and external platforms. You’ll serve as the primary liaison between media, teams and internal stakeholders to build cohesive messaging and multi-channel campaigns that underscore the U.S. Soccer mission. Additionally, you will manage media operations during domestic training camps and international tournaments, ensuring coaches and players are well-prepared for interviews and can incorporate U.S. Soccer messaging organically.

A key focus will also be driving visibility for ADAPTandTHRIVE, U.S. Soccer’s flagship disability inclusion initiative.
