Sport Instructor

An i9 Sports Instructor is a very hands-on role responsible for sport specific coaching and management. We're hiring dependable, insanely, fun Instructors to lead our phenomenal Soccer League & Instructional Programs. Individuals who have/had extensive experience playing their respective sport should apply. Athletes that played in high school or college make ideal candidates but not required. This is a great way to "give back" to youth athletes!

About the Job:

The Sports Instructor will provide expert instruction & coaching in the fundamentals of the sport and will teach all aspects of the sport. Our kids range from 3 to 14 years old and are looking to have a professional fun environment. The ideal candidate will be extremely service-oriented, provide leadership that results in raving guest experiences and be supportive and encouraging. If you know how to have BIG TIME FUN while coaching/teaching, then this is perfect for you!

Requirements

  • Sport specific playing or coaching experience

Title of Position: Director of Programming (Part-Time, with future potential for full time salary)
Reports to: Owner
Locations: McDonough, Covington, Conyers (must be able to work in all areas)
Compensation: Based on experience ($23-27/hr)
Schedule: 4 days / week: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursday evenings, and Saturdays. Currently about 20 hours / week.
Flexibility: Long term, this position will own scheduling and be able to dictate own personal schedule.

Objective of the Position: To execute the vision of Soccer Shots (We aim to provide a beloved growth experience for every child; a remarkable experience for every family) to enable the leadership team to successfully achieve seasonal and annual goals.

Summary of the Role:
The Director of Programming is a hungry, humble and smart leader worth following. You must have the heart of a coach FIRST, because that is where you will start - on the field coaching children. But you must also have a desire to act as a business leader - you will be expected to act as an owner and you will be rewarded for such initiative. You must be an adventurer with a passion to grow and multiply themselves. You must be a competitor, possessing grit, a scrappy demeanor, and a determined drive to hit audacious goals. This person has the ability to harmoniously integrate the major functions of the business, run the organization, and manage the day-to-day issues that arise. You must be able to hire and train and teach other strong coaches.

You must be able to reliably drive yourself between McDonough, Conyers, and Covington. Hourly pay is provided for driving between sessions.

  • You have a strong parent voice and can command a room full of children and have a desire to coach and be a leader to children. Soccer experience is not required - we will teach you the program. But you must have leadership qualities and a loud voice.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Coaching and Partnership Management
    • To start, you will be primarily coaching on the field with the kids. You will be spending time at schools and parks coaching our program to children. Time spent will be dependent on growth and your ability to delegate.
    • Conversing with school directors and parents. Must be personable with an ability to get to know strangers.
  • Sales
    • You will be asked to make sales trips with owner to land new schools
  • Running the day-to-day operation
    • Once proven, owner will give you full autonomy to run this business as you see fit!! But you must prove it!
    • Accountable for the profit and loss of the company and the development and execution of the business plan
    • Leads, manages, and holds the leadership team accountable for achieving agreed-upon commitments

Job Summary

Under the general supervision of the Athletic Manager, serves as an on-site assistant with any city athletic event or league competition. This position is responsible for keeping score of adult athletic competitions and assisting with site supervision and facility upkeep during athletic events. Specific leagues and events are dependent on current season. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Essential Duties

  • Assists the Athletics Manager and Parks Maintenance staff with city athletic events, tournaments, rentals, and leagues.
  • Provides on-site supervision of athletic events and assists with any necessary field maintenance and facility upkeep during that time.
    • Potential facility maintenance may include but is not limited to raking and dragging baseball fields, applying necessary base path and field lines, controlling field lights, operating facility scoreboards, and setting up any necessary field equipment.
  • Maintains communication with rental groups or hosts during athletic events.
  • Assists with any necessary crowd control.
  • Performs duties related to assisting the Athletics Coordinator with keeping score, statistical tracking and reporting, and setting up for and breaking down of the city’s adult athletic leagues.
  • Keeps track of all game time events with the assistance of league referees and officials.
  • Provides assistance with settling any game time disputes.
  • Activates emergency response in the case of any on field emergencies or incidents.
  • Records final scores of adult athletic league competitions and reports them to Athletics Coordinator upon completion.
  • Delivers accurate and timely reports of scores, incidents, injuries, maintenance needs, athletic supply inventory, and any other important game information.
  • Maintains a clean work environment in the athletic work spaces.
  • Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Requirements of Position

  • Minimum 16 years of age.
  • Basic knowledge of athletic rules and regulations for sports including baseball/softball, basketball, ultimate frisbee, volleyball, and soccer
  • Ability to deal tactfully, cooperatively, and courteously with all team managers, patrons, facility users of all ages, and the general public.
  • Ability to work weekday evenings and weekends.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check.

Position Overview:
Be the mayor behind TOCA’s kids soccer program! As the Class Program Coordinator, you’ll help run the show—delivering fun, energetic soccer experiences for kids while making sure everything goes off without a hitch. This role is perfect for someone who’s passionate about soccer, loves working with kids, and wants to help build a strong soccer community.

Your Game Plan:
Game Day Operations: On the Field Experience (50%)
  • Coach soccer classes for different age groups that keep kids engaged and developing their skills.
  • Ensure smooth scheduling, safe play areas, and that everything is set for each class.
  • Work with coaches and parents to make sure classes run smoothly and meet TOCA’s high standards.
Behind the scenes plays (25%)
  • Communicate with Parents to ensure program success.

Community Coach: Build Relationships (15%)
