Job Summary/Description:

Atlanta News First (WANF) is looking for a weekend sports anchor/ MMJ to join our dynamic sports team. We go big, covering the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta Hawks, Atlanta Braves, and so much more. You'll be involved in extensive coverage of all major sports and be a vital aspect of a dynamic team. In addition, this sports journalist will be key in special coverage for Peachtree Sports Network- the home of the Atlanta Dream, Atlanta Gladiators, and many others.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Report, shoot, write, and edit sports stories and segments for WANF, WPCH, and PSN (Peachtree Sports Network) as well as digital and social platforms
• Produce sports segments and line produce shows for broadcast and digital platforms
• Anchor weekend sports and fill in as needed, anchoring weekday sports segments and shows
• Contribute to/ cohost a weekly sports podcast
• Develop sources and relationships to generate story leads, exclusive content, and breaking sports news
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience working in a television newsroom sports department required
• 5 years of experience as an on-air reporter or MMJ preferred
• This IS NOT an entry-level position.
• A degree in journalism or a related communication field is REQUIRED
• Experience using ENPS and Edius PREFERRED
• Must be capable of working under pressure and meeting daily deadlines in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
• Must possess strong communication skills and the ability to multitask and manage time efficiently
• Must work well independently and as part of a team
• Must be coachable and open to feedback
• Experience covering (and/or playing) the following PREFERRED: college football, NFL, MLB, NBA, WNBA, golf, hockey, soccer, lacrosse, other professional/ semi-professional sports
• Scheduling flexibility is REQUIRED
• Some travel is REQUIRED
• Must provide a link to samples of recent work – videography, writing, editing, producing, on-air

• Provide instruction in sports activities.
• Participate in special events and activities related to their sport.
• Maintain effective relationships with schools, parents, participants, and other groups.
• Create an environment that provides various activities and instruction to support program goals.
• Answer inquiries from participants, parents, volunteers, or other stakeholders and provides information or seeks the answers to provide in a timely manner.
• Attend staff meetings and approved training as required
• Conduct assessments of program participants.

• Must be 21 years or older and high school diploma or GED
• Must have a 2+ years of experience in coaching or instructing OR 2+ years competitive experience at the college level or equivalent in the sport
• Must currently hold or be able to acquire any required certification for sport.
• Knowledge of how to instruct the sport including the rules and technique
• Ability to motivate, coach, and lead participants
• High degree of interpersonal communication, conflict management, and customer service skills to tactfully enforce all rules and regulations.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with participants, parents, volunteers, and staff.
• Required certifications: Safe Sport and CDC Heads Up Concussion course online; Must obtain any other certifications including CPR/First Aid required for the position within 30 days of hire date
• Excellent verbal/written communication skills.
• Criminal background check.

• Ability to pass a pre-employment background check including Criminal Record check, Drug Screening and motor vehicle record (MVR) according to company policy.
• Must be legally eligible to work in the US without current or future sponsorship.

Job Summary/Description:

Atlanta News First (WANF) is looking for a sports producer/ photographer to join our expanding sports team. This is primarily a producing and editing position, with potential for more if you’ve got the skills and the drive. We go big, covering the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Dream, the Hawks, the Dawgs, and so many more. You'll be involved in extensive coverage of all major sports and be a vital part of covering our partners on the Peachtree Sports Network.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Produce sports segments within newscasts
• Produce sports shows/ specials, including writing and line producing (boothing)
• Edit video for broadcast and digital platforms
• Write stories for the website and social media
• Maintain sources and contacts to break news, generate story ideas, and exclusive content
• Operate the camera and LiveU live shot equipment
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

• A degree in sports journalism or a related field is preferred
• Minimum 3 years of experience working in a television newsroom sports department
• Medium/ large market experience preferred
• Experience covering (and/or playing) the following PREFERRED: college football, NFL, MLB, NBA, WNBA, golf, hockey, soccer, lacrosse, other professional/ semi-professional sports

• Must thrive working under pressure and meeting daily deadlines in a high-energy working environment
• Outstanding time management and communication skills required
• Must provide a link to examples of recent work and references
