Field Supervisor

D1 Training - Upper Westside Atlanta
Smyrna, GA 30080
Part-time
Contract
Facilities

Description

Overview
NASA Tophat are looking for two employees to help manage their facilities in the Smyrna/Mableton area. Field managers are expected to supervise the facility they are assigned to while serving the membership and larger community.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with location director/supervisor for up to date information about a location/field (maintenance issues, scheduling conflicts, missing games or practices, etc.)
  • According to the schedule for each day, open the park approximately 1 hour before the first event. Ensure the field is ready for play (corner flags out, goals in place and anchored, lines set and correct) before checking on bathrooms, concessions, etc. as your park dictates.
  • Ensure both teams, referee crew (if applicable), and everyone is able to arrive (gates open and parking lot ready)
  • Ensure a safe playing environment by supporting the coaches or referee crew. If there is an issue where someone is causing a disturbance which takes away from the game day experience, step in to handle it if the coaches or referees are unable or unwilling to. Make sure the fields are a safe and fun place for all.
  • Be the visible face of NTH by being present and available for all who come to the parks. Be out and about on the sidelines, dressed in NTH gear indicating your position as a member of the staff. Be prepared to answer questions or have a place for them to go to receive better answers (email a program director or check the website, for instance).
  • Close the fields shortly after kick off. Remove corner flags or goals (if necessary), lock bathrooms and gates, and ensure everyone has left the park before closing the facility. Do so in a timely manner so the park can be turned over for the next day. Let a director know if there are any lingering issues with the fields (wet parts of the park, lights not working, etc.).

Skills

  • People skills are an absolute must in this job
  • The ability to drive and arrive at the fields in a timely manner is a must
  • You may be asked to lift over 60 lbs at a time
  • A baseline understanding of the game of soccer is required (the fundamental rules and basic strategy)
  • Enjoy working with children and ability to be flexible, while still maintaining a supervisory role will go a long way to success

Working with NASA Tophat can be an extremely rewarding and fun experience. For any further questions reach out to NTH Director of Operations Mike Gaziano at mike.gaziano@nasatophat.com.
