Position Description

U.S. Soccer is seeking an experienced videographer, editor and field producer to lead the in-house video team covering the Women’s National Team.

The Director, WNT Video Content will be responsible for the end-to-end production process, including ideating, developing and ultimately creating video assets designed to deepen fan engagement, grow reach, increase relevancy and drive revenue.

In addition to storytelling, this individual will craft and create content designed to support the Federation’s commercial efforts: growing Insiders, driving ticket sales, supporting kit launches, working with U.S. Soccer’s partners, etc… In conjunction with Content Strategy and social media, ideating a strategy to tell the story of match day, while integrating and supporting commercial efforts.

The Director, Video Production will build adaptable and repeatable playbooks for international camps, tournaments and match days. Contribute to the creation of a 365-social content engine designed to keep the engage soccer fans year-round with an audience-led, data-driven approach to maximize reach, relevancy and revenue.

We are seeking someone relationship driven with the ability to collaborate, communicate and build trust with a wide array of internal and external stakeholders.

This role will be embedded with the Women’s National Team during camps, games and other team events, which will require extensive travel, up to 40% of the time.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for owning U.S. Soccer’s video strategy and execution across a variety of platforms.
  • Ideate and assist in the creation of videos that push the Federation forward in its visual identity while protecting brand guidelines.
  • Delegate projects and assignments to video team to hit deadlines while staying within budget.
  • Manage multiple short-term projects while simultaneously working on long-term planning.
  • In collaboration with the Content Team, ideate and develop content throughout U.S. Soccer’s ecosystem of social media channels.
  • Collaborate with U.S. Soccer’s partnership team to ensure branded content delivers and complies with platform and partner requirements.
  • Promote inclusivity, conversation and engagement on platforms by joining in relevant conversations and aligning with meaningful cultural trends.
  • Ensure footage is properly organized and cataloged in U.S. Soccer’s media library, maintaining the video archive’s systems and servers and enforcing DAM organizational best practices.
  • Maintain, track, and coordinate equipment usage, shipping, and logistics at events.
  • Manage contacts and relationships with third-party agencies and production companies, including sourcing, supervising, and communicating throughout all aspects of projects.
Requirements:


Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years experience in video production.
  • 3+ years experience managing a production team.
  • Used to performing and exceling in fast-paced environments, while under pressure.
  • A self-starter capable of taking initiative and leading a team.
  • Ability to balance short-term deliverables with long-term projects in concurrent workstreams.
  • Capable of working with a large number of stakeholders.
  • Background or experience working for a media/news company is helpful.
  • Able and willing to travel, in addition to working non-traditional hours including evenings and weekends as needed.
  • When not traveling, able to work out of U.S. Soccer’s future headquarters in Atlanta, GA.
  • Discretion. This roll will be privy to confidential information.
  • Passport required.
  • General knowledge of soccer
  • Capable of working in fast-paced and demanding environments
  • Must be able to connect “micro” details to the “macro” vision and mission
  • Proficient experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook)

Desired Qualifications

  • Spanish speaking is a plus.
  • Experience working for a team or league.
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Premiere).
